Why this isn't a lottery
Under the Gambling Act 2005, a promotion that pays out purely on chance for a paid entry is a lottery, and only licensed operators may run those. Gourmax operates as a free prize draw instead: a genuinely free, equal-odds postal route is always open alongside paid entries, so no purchase is ever necessary to enter or win.
